To say that the reaction to the Healy-Raes on last night's Late Late Show was mixed is an understatement.
We've never seen more polarising guests on with Tubbers since, well, ever. Love them or loathe them, one thing is for certain - they make for reasonably entertaining television. The two brothers were on to explain how they managed to top the polls in their constituencies, exactly why Danny Healy-Rae decided to stand as an election candidate and, sure enough, addressing us smart alecs up here in Dublin.
Take a look.
As we said, Twitter was pretty well split on the issue of the Healy-Raes. Some loved for their representation of Kerry and standing up for their constituency, others thought they were... Well, look for yourself.
These Healy Raes are something else, I'm in love

Fact: The Healy-Raes are very shrewd political operators with no shortage of brains who know timing is everything in politics. #LateLateShow

If one understood the appeal of the Healy Raes about as much as that of Jedward would one be a member of the smart alec D4 elite? #latelate

Dublin audience can barely hide its disdain for the Healy-Raes
Lukewarm applause followed by laughter normally reserved for clowns#latelate— Sean Perry (@perry_sean) March 4, 2016
We are now in the process of pitching a Keeping Up With... reality TV show that follows Michael and Danny Healy-Rae around South Kerry. If one of them ends up being a fashion designer of some description, it's over.
What did you make of the Healy-Raes? Let us know in the comments!
