A few months ago, back in February, Alisan Porter moved all four judges to turn their chairs, before moving audiences with her story of "getting sober eight years ago" after her career as a child movie star. Now she's only gone and won the whole competition last night.
Luckily for mentor Christina Aguilera, Porter chose her out of the four mentors on offer (that being Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Pharrell), making her the first female coach ever to win the show in ten seasons.
While Curly Sue may have propelled Porter to childhood fame, she's been waiting to kill her off for three decades. Speaking to reporters after winning the show, the 34-year-old said: "I have retired Curly Sue, she is dead! I am now the girl who won The VoiceI would like you all to know. I've waited 30 something years for that! She's dead!" She added: "It's so cool that's how my career started and I'm honored to have had a great career when I was young. It's been years, decades since that was over and since I've been wanting this."
Congrats to Porter and her young family!
