It's X Factor final time again this weekend, which can only mean one thing: The duets are coming. This year's bunch aren't exactly overwhelming but we've got the details for those of you who'd like to know.
So, Nicole Scherzinger's teaming up with Sam Bailey for And I Am Telling You from Dreamgirls, Nicholas MacDonald's Flying Without Wings with our own Shane Filan (Pushing the boat out there with the lads you want to sell, aren't you Louis?) and Luke Friend will be showing us that Anything Could Happen with Ellie Goulding 'cause they're both mad alternative and such. That said, we quite like Luke, and Ellie Goulding too for that matter...
Anyway, in the spirit of the season, we couldn't help but think back to last year when Scherzy's mic went a bit AWOL and she had to grab on to Jahmene's for dear life. Nothing says X Factor finals like an awkward duet, so here are 5 TV talent show ones we'll never ever forget.
1. Matt Cardle and Rihanna
Matt Cardle wasn't feeling the best over the X Factor final weekend back in 2010, but sure weren't we all too busy wondering what was going on downstairs as he sang with Rihanna to even notice if the vocals were a little dodgy? Was that a microphone pack in his pocket? Or was he just a little too happy to see her?
2. Rebecca Ferguson and Christina Aguilera
That very same year Rebecca Ferguson was teamed up with Christina Aguilera for a duet that was anything but a duet. Good old Christina didn't seem as though she was in the mood to be sharing the stage with Rebecca and headed off on her own vocal journey. Well, she did say she was a fighter...
3. Jessica Sanchez and Jennifer Holliday
We're taking a minor detour now to the American version of the X Factor's predecessor, American Idol. Back in 2012 16 year old Jessica Sanchez was joined on stage by Dreamgirls stage star Jenifer Holliday for an utterly amazing version of And I'm Telling You (no pressure Scherzy and Sam, no pressure) However, the most amazing thing about it had to be the facial expressions. Watch it, we promise you won't regret it.
4. LeAnn Rimes and Carly Rose Sonenclar
Our next port of call is X Factor USA, where LeAnn Rimes gave what's probably become one of her most controversial performances to date. Was she drunk on stage while singing with the 13-year-old? She says no, but the viewers weren't convinced.
5. Alexandra Burke and Beyonce
This one needs no words. Just watch.
