'Uno' is a card game that many of us have devoted hours and entire evenings to playing. In 2021, it'll celebrate its 50th anniversary. Now it's getting the TV treatment.
A game show revolving around 'Uno' is in the works from toy company Mattel.
Propagate founders Ben Silverman and Howard T. Owens will partner with the firm to adapt it for the small screen. Propagate were previously behind such series as 'Running Wild With Bear Grylls' and 'Chopped'.
'The Uno Game Show' sees the classic card game transformed into a televised competition.
The series will feature four teams who face off one another to become the champion.
The supersized 'Uno' experience incorporates audience participation, over-the-top physical challenges and trivia, alongside other creative elements.
Veteran reality TV producer John Quinn, who has worked on such shows as 'The Price Is Right', 'Let's Make a Deal', and 'Match Game' is an exec producer.
The project is still in the development stage and thus hasn't a TV network attached just yet.
Other Mattel properties that are being adapted for TV include 'Masters of the Universe: Revelation' for Netflix.
