As someone who had the Red Wedding spoiled for them, this writer can speak with good authority about how much of an absolute pain it is when an episode of Game of Thrones that is just a few hours old gets ruined just because you glanced at your twitter feed.

It's gotten to the point where one has to get up at 5am on a Monday in order to watch the previous night's episode before the internet has the chance to ruin it for you.

Thankfully, Twitter understands the struggles that TV and movie fans have to go through these days and have responded by introducing this new feature that will help you avoid them.

This new muting feature allows you to mute specific words, phrases and hashtags from your Twitter feed from as long as you want from your timeline and notifications. The feature also allows you to set up the muting up to only last for a specific duration.

Beware though! If you decide to search for any of the muted words or phrases in your search bar after you've commenced muting them then the feature won't protect you.

Now that's Twitter taken care of. All you have to do now is deal with people in real life.
