True Detective's third season is easily building up one of the most impressive ensemble casts yet mounted for the series.
As reported previously, Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali, Fantastic Beasts' Carmen Ejogo, and The Good Wife's Mamie Gummer have both signed on for major roles with '90s throwback Stephen Dorff in there as well. Deadline's now reporting that Justice League star Ray Fisher - who played Cyborg - is set to play the son of Mahershala Ali's character, and will be joined by Rhys Wakefield - best known on this side of the Atlantic for his role in Home & Away.
There's no word yet on an air date for True Detective's third season, but everything we've read about it so far has us pretty gosh-darned excited. Not only is Nic Pizzolatto returning, he's bringing along screenwriting legend David Milch - who co-created NYPD Blue, made Deadwood, worked on Murder One, and LA Law - and the whole thing's being directed by Jeremy Saulnier, who did the excellent Green Room (read our review and find out why) and Blue Ruin.
So, yeah, it's exciting.
