Bad news for fans of HBO's tech comedy Silicon Valley.Â
TJ Miller will not be returning for the show's fifth season. The comedic actor, who plays outlandish entrepreneur Erlich Bachman in the series, and the show's creative team reportedly 'mutually agreed' that he would leave the series following the conclusion of season 4.Â
“The producers of Silicon Valley and T.J. Miller have mutually agreed that T.J. will not return for season 5,”  a statement from HBO read.Â
“In Erlich Bachman, T.J. has brought to life an unforgettable character, and while his presence on the show will be missed, we appreciate his contribution and look forward to future collaborations.”
The rest of the cast, which includes Thomas Middleditch, Zach Woods, Kumail Nanjiani, Martin Starr, Josh Brener, Amanda Crew, Matt Ross, Jimmy O. Yang and Suzanne Cryer are all expected to return for the recently announced fifth season.Â
While it's a disappointment that Miller won't be returning to the series, it's hardly too surprising considering how high his profile has risen in recent times. The actor has been starring in movies such as Deadpool and Office Christmas Party in recent times while he's also set to have a big role in Steven Spielberg's upcoming Ready Player One.Â
