The Globes are going coast to coast
This year's 78th Annual Golden Globes are still going ahead, but with a few minor changes.
Hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are indeed back, resurrecting their three-year run from 2013 - 2015, making it fourth times the charm this year. However, and we don't know how we feel about this, they won't be appearing in the same room.
The comedy double-act will be broadcasting live from two separate locations in the States for the awards show on February 28.
Amy Poehler will be placed in the usual Globes' locale of Beverly Hilton Hotel in California, while Tina Fey will be hosting from the opposite coast from The Rainbow Room at the Rockefeller Center in New York City. This will mark the very first time that the Golden Globes will pull off such an ambitious broadcast.
Other details regarding how the set-up of the night will go have yet to be revealed. We presume, given the safety measures still in place across America, that stars will be dialling in from their homes a la the Emmys last year.
Nominations for this year's Golden Globes also have yet to be revealed. However, a number of titles tipped to claim a nomination or five (which are most likely to be dominated by Netflix titles) include movies 'Wolfwalkers', 'The Trial of the Chicago 7', 'Mank', 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom', 'Soul', and 'Borat 2'.
While TV nominations will see the likes of 'The Queen's Gambit', 'The Mandalorian', 'Normal People', 'The Boys', 'I May Destroy You', 'Lovecraft Country', and 'Ted Lasso' be tipped for nominations.
The full list of nominees will arrive later today (Wednesday).
In anticipation of this different approach to seeing Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on our screens again, here's one of the finest opening monologues that the Golden Globes has ever seen, complete with zingers aimed at James Cameron and Daniel Day-Lewis.
