With the third season of the ace BBC drama Peaky Blinders set to air on our screens this summer, there are rumours circulating that a movie is something that the creators are giving serious thought to.
RadioTimes.com are reporting that a Peaky Blinders movie is a real possibility. A source told RadioTimes.com that: “It’s early days but it’s being discussed as a definite possibility. The show has international appeal and it is high octane with a lavish period look that would make it perfect for the big screen treatment."
While a film spinoff the show would certainly be interesting, considering it's only rumours we're hearing it's unlikely we'll seen anything materialise any time soon. What we know for sure though is that season three of the show will be on BBC2 in May and the show's creators and cast are teasing the best season yet.
"I am genuinely thrilled at the prospect of season three," the show's creator, Steven Knight, said of the new run. "I think it will be the best yet. Lots of things familiar but lots of things are new."
Cillian Murphy meanwhile said that: "It's the sign of a great show when by the second or third season it's richer than ever. The writing this year is the strongest it's ever been. It's off the charts."
Murphy will be joined in season three once again by Helen McCrory (Aunt Polly), Paul Anderson (Arthur Shelby) and Tom Hardy (Alfie Solomons). Paddy Considine will also be joining the show in season 3.
