Celebrity contestants are set to feature on the quiz show
BBC is rebooting the quiz show 'The Weakest Link', which first aired in the year 2000.
Anne Robinson hosted more than 1,690 editions of 'The Weakest Link'.
'The Apprentice's Nick Hewer was the original host of the daytime quiz show. 'Glee' alum Jane Lunch is currently hosting a US revival of the series.
Robinson last hosted 'The Weakest Link' in a charity special in 2017 for Children in Need.
Comedian Romesh Ranganathan is set to take hosting duties for the revival.
He said: "It’s an honor to be asked to bring what is basically a TV institution back to our screens.
"Anne was an amazing host and to step into her shoes is an anxiety-inducing privilege.
"I’m hoping we’ve found a way to make both the fans of the show happy as well as bringing a new audience to it.
"If not, accept this as my apology."
Kate Phillips, BBC’s director of entertainment, added: "'Weakest Link' has always been a firm favorite with audiences and Anne Robinson was a terrific and formidable host.
"I can’t wait to see Romesh bring his own unique style of presenting to one of TV’s most memorable roles."
The revival will air on BBC One in a primetime slot, and consist of 12 episodes of 45 minutes each.
It will be filmed in Glasgow.
A premiere date for 'The Weakest Link' has yet to be announced, and the same goes for its celebrity line-up.
