'The Victim' kicks off tonight
RTE One is on a roll with gripping Tuesday night drama shows.
In case you missed it on the BBC the first time around, there's a brilliant drama heading to RTE One tonight. 'The Victim' is a four-part Scottish thriller which plays across two timeframes, all revolving around a rather intense court case.
'The Victim' follows the progress of a trial in Edinburgh’s High Court, while also covering the events leading up to the legal proceedings and the criminal investigation. The series stars John Hannah ('Four Weddings and a Funeral' and 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.') as Steven Grover, a detective inspector who is adamant on cracking this case about a boy who was murdered 15 years previously.
Kelly Macdonald ('Trainspotting' and 'Boardwalk Empire') plays Anna Dean, the mother of the victim and who is accused of revealing his killer’s new identity online and conspiring to have him murdered. It's up to D.I. Grover to see if this grieving mother has managed to turn herself into a criminal in order to get justice for her son.
Here's the trailer.
The arrival of 'The Victim' on RTE One comes a week after the channel concluded the Australian thriller 'The Secret She Keeps'. Before this of course, the nation was wrapped up in everything 'Normal People' related. Both of these series are now available to view on the RTE Player.
Be sure to catch the first episode of 'The Victim' which begins on RTE One tonight at 10.10pm.Â
