According to the press pack that's just kindly landed on our laps, Styled to Rock (trailer here) is "the much-anticipated new fashion series executive-produced by style icon and global superstar Rihanna." Global superstar, certainly, but the jury's still furiously debating on the "executive-produced" and "style icon" side of things.
The panel of mentors, which have "been hand-picked by Rihanna herself" include Nicola Roberts off Girls Aloud, designer Henry 'I'm mates with Agyness Deyn in case you didn’t know' Holland and someone called Lysa Cooper. She's a stylist who's responsible for some of Rihanna's outfits over the years.
Over ten weeks, twelve unknown designers "personally selected by Rihanna" will be challenged by the mentors to create outfits for a string of A-list music artists to wear for a variety of occasions, including stage, suits, high-profile events and more. So it's entirely different to Project Runway.
This show will ultimately recognise the increasing influence music stars today have on mainstream fashion trends - thanking you for the boob tubes, the butt baring infertility shorts, and folk thinking they can wear leggings as actual trousers.
It's starting on Tuesday August 14th on SKY Living HD at 9.00pm. And, no, I wouldn't let any of them near me either. Especially the bird with the cockatoo on her head.
