Robert Durst, the subject of HBO's hit true crime documentary series, The Jinx, appeared in front of a court yesterday to submit a plea for the murder of Susan Berman.
Durst pleaded 'Not Guilty' to the murder of his friend and confidant Susan Berman despite appearing to confess to the murder off camera in the final episode of the series.
“I do want to say right here and now, I am not guilty,” Durst said from a wheelchair. “I did not kill Susan Berman.”
The final episode of The Jinx concluded with an audio recording of Durst in the bathroom following an interview with the series' director, Andrew Jarecki.
"What the hell did I do?” Durst says off camera during the episode in question. “Killed ’em all, of course.”
Durst's trial is expected to begin in the New Year. He isn't eligible for bail and will remain behind bars before and throughout his trial.
