Whether you love it or hate it, The Big Bang Theory is here to stay and you better get used to it.
Prior to the beginning of the show's current tenth season, it looked like the end was near as none of the main cast had signed on beyond the end of season ten.
However according to Variety, CBS are close to finalising contracts with the core cast which will see the show renewed for likely their final two seasons.
Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, and Kunal Nayyar are all expected to earn $1m per episode for the final two seasons while Mayim Bialik (Amy) and Melissa Rauch (Bernadette) are also expected to get significant pay rises.
This new renewal means the show will likely finish with twelve seasons, tying it with Two and Half Men as the second longest running live action TV sitcom in history. It will leapfrog the likes of Happy Days, Married With Children, Cheers and Frasier. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is headed for fourteen seasons but is excluded from the list because it is aired on cable in the US and produces far fewer episodes.
So are you thrilled by the renewal news? Or are you like our Brian and want the show to die?
