Get ready for the usual tabloid headline battle talk: Strictly Come Dancing returns to our screens this weekend, heralding another few months of X Factor versus Strictly banter that very few of us actually care about in the long run. We're only looking for something half decent to watch on a Saturday night.

The BBC officially revealed the line for the latest series last night, and there's a fair few familiar faces among the hopefuls/human sacrifices. Now, she'll never be half as interesting to us as our own Nicky Byrne was last year, but we are slightly looking forward to seeing Vanessa Feltz shake her 'groove thang': The Let's Dance for Comic Relief performance speaks for itself.

Of course, there were very few surprises given that the newspapers has more or less revealed the line-up well in advance. Sophie Ellis Bexter, ex Coronation Street star Natalie Gumede and Hairy Biker Dave Myers were all expected to appear, and they're joined by Countdown babe Rachel Riley, model Abbey Clancy, and Dragon's Den star Deborah Meaden.

Rugby World Cup winner Ben Cohen and golfer Tony Jacklin bring a bit of sporting action to the new series, while designer Julien Macdonald also takes to the dancefloor: We'll be very upset if he doesn't design a costume or two along the way.

Ashley Taylor Dawson (yer man off Hollyoaks), Mark Benton (of Waterloo Road and Early Doors fame) and Casualty's Patrick Robinson complete the line-up for the lads, while BBC Breakfast's Susanna Read and former Bond actress Fiona Fullerton round things off for the ladies.

Time to place your bets folks, only one of 'em can claim that crown.
