Gosh and Begorrah, the Americans have gotten an even tighter grip on our patron saint and are planning on making a TV show about him in the style of Braveheart. Yep, it's happening, you can't stop it, you can only try and advert your eyes when this cringe fest comes to be.
US network Fox is developing the miniseries which will be directed by Underworld's Len Wiseman, who also executive produced Fox drama Sleepy Hollow. It will be written by Blacklist writers Dan Frey & Russell Sommer.
According to Deadline; "The series explores Patrick‘s dramatic transformation from a rebellious teenager into a legendary peacemaker and chronicles his story as a slave who becomes a priest, a priest who becomes a warrior, and ultimately a warrior who becomes a saint."
Will there be actual snakes too? Or will they go down the 'snakes are a metaphor' route? We vote real snakes.
This could all go terribly, terribly wrong either way... although... it does have some talented folk behind it so maybe we shouldn't be so quick to judge.
Just kidding, we're totally judging it already.
