American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy has announced that season 7 of the series will be about the 2016 US Presidential Election.

Murphy was a guest on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and revealed to the host that although the season is without a title, it will focus on "the election we just went through."

"Will there be a Trump in it?" the shocked host asked.

"Maybe."

While many people would consider the election to be a horror story that's still ongoing, it's still surprising to hear that it will be the theme for the new season. There are still no other details about how close to real events the story will lean and what kind of supernatural elements (if any) we can expect.

The good news is that Murphy doesn't have to worry about making any opening credits for the new season. An American Horror Story fan already put some out ahead of Donald Trump's inauguration.

AHS alumni Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are both confirmed to return for the new season. It's also confirmed that Sarah Paulson will be appearing in American Crime Story season four, which will focus on the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Her role has not been revealed just yet but it has been announced that she won't be playing Hilary Clinton.
