The actor exited the series shortly after the first season ended
Warner Bros. Television have released a statement in response to recent allegations from Ruby Rose about what happened during their time on the studio's series for network The CW, 'Batwoman'.
Ruby Rose slammed the CW, Warner Bros. TV, Berlanti Productions and top execs on 'Batwoman' in a lengthy post on Instagram stories.
The actor exited the series in May 2020, much to the shock of fans. They were replaced with Javicia Leslie.
At the time, they spoke little of the reasons behind her exit, stating: "this was not a decision I made lightly as I have the utmost respect for the cast, crew and everyone involved with the show in both Vancouver and in Los Angeles."
But on Instagram yesterday, they had a lot more to say.
Ruby Rose wrote: "Enough is enough.
"I’m going to tell the whole world what really happened on that set. I will come for you so what happened to me never happens to another person again. And so I can finally take back my life and the truth. Shame on you."
They included an image from a surgery they had following a stunt injury, and alleged they were forced to return to work by former head of Warner Bros. TV Peter Roth.
He allegedly threatened they they would cost the production "millions" and that "the whole crew and cast would be fired."
They also said that Roth behaved inappropriately and bizarrely, such as asking women to steam his pants while he was wearing them.
They additionally alleged that Roth had Rose investigated by a PI after they left the series.
Ruby Rose also accused their former co-star Dougray Scott, who played their father, of misconduct on set, including allegedly being abusive to women and hurting a female stunt double.
Rose said there were unsafe working conditions on-set, leading to serious injuries to 'Batwoman' crew members.
They claimed one individual received "third degree burns over his whole body" during production.
Ruby Rose concluded saying they "did not quit" and that "they ruined Kate Kane and they destroyed 'Batwoman', not me."
Warner Bros. TV have now responded.
They claim what Ruby Rose is saying is "revisionist history" and that the actor had been fired from the show following "multiple complaints about workplace behaviour" against them.
The full statement to Deadline reads: "Despite the revisionist history that Ruby Rose is now sharing online aimed at the producers, the cast and crew, the network, and the Studio, the truth is that Warner Bros. Television had decided not to exercise its option to engage Ruby for season two of Batwoman based on multiple complaints about workplace behavior that were extensively reviewed and handled privately out of respect for all concerned."
'Justice League' star Ray Fisher, who has himself been in a lengthy feud with Warners, also responded to the allegations.
