Sure enough, this week's 'SNL' used its Cold Open to bring out Kate McKinnon as Jeff Sessions, the quasi-squirrel / possum caricature, and go through a sketch.
While Alec Baldwin didn't make an appearance as Donald Trump beyond a flashback scene where Sessions / McKinnon sings Adele's 'Someone Like You', none other than Robert De Niro returned as FBI investigator Robert Mueller.
It's by no means one of their best sketches, but seeing Robert De Niro in action - especially after he was sent a pipe-bomb by a mentally-disturbed Trump supporter - just a couple of weeks ago is a good thing.
Take a look.
The better sketch, in our mind, was this segment from Weekend Update. A day after the Midterms, Donald Trump held a now-infamous press conference where an unnamed White House intern tried to snatch a microphone from CNN's Jim Acosta.
The whole video was then doctored by conspiracy theorist Alex Jones of InfoWars, which was then posted by Sarah Huckabee Sanders. She's the White House Press Secretary, by the way.
So, that's the context - if there is such a thing - going into this.
