Seems like everyone wants a piece of TV these days, even these two Hollywood bigwigs, who will be teaming up for a new TV series called Big Little Lies. The pair will not only star in the show, which is an adaptation of an Australian novel, but they will produce it too.
The original book is by New York Times best-selling author Liane Moriarty, and tells the story of three women, Madeline, Celeste and Jane, all of whom have children at the same preschool and each finding themselves at a crossroads in their lives. The adaptation will be written by Emmy winner David E Kelley (Chicago Hope, The Practice, Ally McBeal, Boston Public), and was initially expected to turn into a feature film but will now become evolved into a limited series adaptation.
Deadline has described it as 'the highest-profile limited series package to hit the marketplace since Nic Pizzolatto’s True Detective' and have to say we agree. These ladies are Oscar winners no less, so it's no mean feat getting their names on board for a TV series.
So there's an Emmy winning writer, two Oscar winners and one New York Times bestselling author...... yep, safe to say we are looking forward to this one.
