One of the founding cast of American Idol - Randy Jackson - has quit the show.
Jackson, who served as producer and actually collaborated with Paula Abdul on one of her singles, announced his departure two years ago, but stayed on to act as a mentor to one of the acts in the previous season.
This leaves Ryan Seacrest as the sole remaining original cast member of the show since its inception.
Meanwhile, judges Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban have all signed on for next season.
