"I long for a few years ago when the worst things she did were those Fantastic Beasts movies."

Pete Davidson delivered a biting, humourous monologue on 'Saturday Night Live' last weekend about J.K. Rowling.

The 'Harry Potter' author has made a number of controversial comments in recent months about transgender issues which have been viewed as transphobic by fans. Pete Davidson said he found Rowling's comments "very disappointing."

He continued: "It really hurt. I have a close connection to those movies. I even look like Dobby the house elf, if he became a TikTok rapper."

The 'King of Staten Island' star and writer asked 'Weekend Update' co-host Colin Jost: "What's wrong with her, Colin?

"She creates a seven-book fantasy series about all types of mythical creatures living in harmony with wizards and elves and the one thing she can't wrap her head around is Laverne Cox? She's a national treasure."

Pete Davidson also bemoaned the fact that he has several 'Harry Potter' tattoos.

He noted: "I long for a few years ago when the worst things she did were those Fantastic Beasts movies. No discrimination there, those films harmed us all equally."

He also suggested that Rowling’s work was heavily antisemitic. Watch the monologue below.

A number of stars in the 'Harry Potter' and 'Fantastic Beasts' series have weighed in on what Rowling said, including Daniel Radcliffe, Robbie Coltrane, Evanna Lynch, Emma Watson and Eddie Redmayne.
