Paul Mescal continues to have the best year while the rest of humanity suffers.
While pretty much everyone is having an awful 2020, there's one person who's been having a cracker of a year - and that's Paul Mescal.
His breakout role in 'Normal People' has catapulted him into stardom in the space of a few months, with THR now reporting that Mescal is set to make his feature debut later this year. 'The Lost Daughter' is adapted from Elena Ferrante's novel, and will be Maggie Gyllenhaal's directorial debut.

Mescal will be starring opposite Oscar-winner (that's so good to type) Olivia Colman, Dakota Johnson, our own Jessie Buckley, and Peter Sarsgaard, who just so happens to be Gyllenhaal's husband as well as a cracking actor. The story follows an elegant college professor who has a breakdown when she becomes obsessed with a young mother and daughter during a seaside holiday.
It's not yet known what role Mescal will be playing in the movie, but it's understood that Colman is playing the college professor while Jessie Buckley is set to play the young mother in question.
No release date has been set for 'The Lost Daughter' as of yet.
