Louis Walsh may not think he has it in him to win the Eurovision, but Irish entrant Ryan Dolan has had a massive vote of confidence from another Irish fella: One Direction's Mullingar man Niall Horan.
Ryan's been in Malmo, Sweden for the past few days now, so himself and some of the Irish delegation took a short skip across the Oresund Link (that's a bridge that connects Sweden to Denmark) to catch One Direction in concert in Copenhagen last Thursday. Niall said he hoped to see Ryan making it all the way in the competition when the pair met after the gig.
Never one to miss a trick, Dolan and the gang got down to business in the Danish capital, doing all they could to help 'Only Love Survives' pick up a few more votes. "When we were in Copenhagen waiting for the train back to Malmo we did some Irish dancing in the station and handed out Vote Ryan Dolan Ireland stickers and asked people to vote for me." the 27-year-old revealed. Sure you can't go wrong with a bit of Riverdance...
It seems as though the Irish delegation is well and truly having the craic in Sweden, with Linda Martin flying out to join the fun over the weekend. She'll be performing on Swedish telly over the next few days, and has even been invited to join Ryan in a special live show on SVT before Tuesday's semi-final. That's good news for us by the by, as only a few countries in the semi-final have been asked to take part.
And as if that wasn't enough to keep him occupied, he even played a bit of GAA with the lovely young wan who is representing Austria at Malmo GAA Club (it's catching on) before hitting the red carpet for a big gala reception last night. Sure what's another year, eh?
