Darragh Ennis was a former contestant on the show
Bradley Walsh has recruited a new chaser to keep the contestants of his TV show on their toes, and this time round it's an old Irish contestant.
There's a new chaser on 'The Chase' this year, and he has taken the form of Irish scientist, Darragh Ennis. Darragh has been confirmed as the sixth chaser for the gameshow series, joining the likes of "The Beast" and "The Governess" in potentially tearing contestants' big-money dreams away.
Being only the sixth chaser to ever grace 'The Chase' stage, Darragh was also a former contestant on the TV gameshow in the past. Appearing back in 2017, Darragh was the star of his show who went on to bank an impressive £9000 for his team at the time. However, after his fellow contestants ended up taking lower offers and they ended up winning less, a GoFundMe page was set up in his honour.
Three years on from his appearance, Darragh has confirmed his involvement on the show, and his first episodes in the upcoming series have already been recorded.
I'm really excited to be the 6th chaser on #TheChase . I've been working hard on this for a while now and can't wait for my episodes to air. Well the ones I win anyway.

Darragh is a post-doctoral researcher at Oxford University and previously studied at NUI Maynooth.
He'll now join the roster of Mark "The Beast" Labbett, Shaun "The Dark Destroyer" Wallace, Anne "The Governess" Hegerty, Paul "The Sinnerman" Sinha, and Jenny "The Vixen" Ryan, who was the most recent addition to the team in 2015.
His fellow colleagues have been wishing the Irish scientist the best of luck in the future.
@bones_giles welcome to the pros kid. If you thought you were working hard before, you ain’t seen nothing yet :)

The night before they producers told us, Anne and Mark and I sat at dinner and pondered "Could it be a former contestant". I said, "If it is, the best player I faced was an Irish guy who looked a bit like Micky Flanagan" Welcome to the club mate. https://t.co/6lpTu9DaOW
