Forget Flack Attack, get ready for Maura... Furore?
Earlier this week, Caroline Flack was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm, reportedly involving an altercation with her boyfriend, tennis pro Lewis Burton.
As a result of Flack's arrest, it's now increasingly likely that the host of 'Love Island' is set to be replaced and the likelihood is that none other than Maura Higgins is set to step in. Rumours had suggested that another Irishwoman - Laura Whitmore - was in the running, but recent activity on Maura's Instagram seems to suggest otherwise.
For example, this post from earlier today featuring a topless Maura Higgins saw her caption the post, "Do one winter...", which is the tagline for the upcoming winter edition of 'Love Island'.
To add even more speculation fuel on the proverbial fire, Higgins posted an image of herself on a private plane yesterday, adding that she was heading off to the sun to shoot something very exciting.
As it stands, ITV have released no statement concerning Caroline Flack's status as host of 'Love Island', so this could all very well be Higgins simply stirring the shit and us mixing up our metaphors.
At any rate, this isn't the end of the story with the winter edition of 'Love Island'. If anything, it's only just beginning. DUN-DUN-DUNNNNN.
