As Top Gear moves into its first season back since the departure of Clarkson, Hammond and May, things really haven't been going so swimmingly.
In fact, falling ratings and rumours of on-set tension between the various hosts have dogged the show since its premiere. It might be getting too much for some, as a source inside Top Gear reported to The Sun that Matt LeBlanc is considering leaving the show entirely.
LeBlanc's been open about the fact that he took Top Gear because he needed a job, however it may be proving too much hassle for the former Friends star. According to The Sun's source, LeBlanc "has already indicated that he won’t continue on any further series if Chris remains a part of it. And he is far from the only one who isn’t happy."
LeBlanc's contract has him signed up for two more seasons of Top Gear, therefore it seems as though this claim may not exactly be truthful. The source goes on to say that the atmosphere on set is frosty, with a gulf between Chris Evans and the rest of the presenters.
Whether these reports are true or not, one thing's for certain - Top Gear is floundering and it's clear that the hosts aren't making any waves either with casual viewers or longtime fans of the show. What's more, the Amazon-backed The Grand Tour with Clarkson and co. is only a month or two away from its premiere and will undoubtedly take away viewers from Top Gear.
