It's hard to imagine what the Great British Bake Off might look like without Mary Berry floating around and offering a word of advice to contestants about their soggy bottoms and getting emotional at their triumphs - but it's going to happen for the next series.
As you know, Berry and presenters Mel & Sue did not follow the show to Channel 4, which means that a new team must be assembled. According to The Sun, Mary's replacement will be Prue Leith (above, right), who will join Paul Hollywood as a judge on the new series when it begins later this year.
The 76-year-old South African-born Leith is a 'restaurateur, food campaigner and writer' who is seen as a 'like for like' replacement for Berry as she comes from a similar background, although is younger than her 81-year-old predecessor.
A C4 spokesperson did not confirm the appointment, instead saying: "We’ll be announcing the line-up in due course."
Will she win the hearts of millions as Mary Berry did? Only time will tell....
