The reality series kicks off for another run this weekend
The new series of 'Love Island' kicks off this weekend.
It'll be the first-ever winter edition of the reality series and its setting is Cape Town, South Africa. The surreal courting rituals of 'Love Island' may seem like they're something out of 'Black Mirror' at times. But that's not all the two shows share in common.
It turns out that the villa where the islanders will live in the new series, was previously seen in an episode of the dystopian Netflix series.
It was where Miley Cyrus' character Ashley O was imprisoned in the episode 'Rachel, Jack And Ashley Too' as she was forced into an induced coma while her manager used her dreams to produce music.
The villa can be found in the shadow of Table Mountain. The £6 million mansion has a private pool, gym, and a huge garden also.

According to The Sun, the mansion will be patrolled by armed guards while the reality series is being filmed. The area is in the midst of a gang war and there's a fear that 'Love Island' contestants could be kidnapped.
An ITV spokesperson said: "The safety and security of our Islanders and crew are of the utmost importance."
A show insider added: "Producers aren’t taking any chances. It’s been arranged for armed guards to patrol the compound throughout the series.
"They will have them surrounding the area so there is no chance of any breaches."
