Aaron Heffernan is the latest recruit to the hit crime drama Love Hate. Heffernan will play the detective trying to bring down King Nidgy. Speaking about his role, Heffernan said, 'I play a detective who's out to surveil the gang and keep tabs on them,I'm part of an undercover unit so I keep a distance and just hang around trying to infiltrate the gang'.
The fourth series has yet to be given a transmission date but we cannot wait to see what is going to unfold this time. The shows writer Stuart Carolan revealed that the Gardai have a much bigger role in the new series. Could this mean the end for poor old Nidge? With Robert Sheehan meeting his untimely death in the last series, it's been confirmed he won't be coming back from the dead, this leaves an opening for a new heartthrob, a role Heffernan says he is more then happy to take up. 'I don't mind at all being called a 'heartthrob. You only live once and it's how I fit into the story'. Heffernan also revealed that his part will be a 'very violent and physical' role and the that the next series is 'very no holds barred'.
Heffernan is not the only new face to the show. Kelly Thornton, who starred in the recent film Life's a Breeze, will be joining the cast along with Brian F O'Byrne. O'Byrne will join the show as Detective Moynihan, Nidge's arch nemesis . Suzanne McAuley, the shows producer, said about the new cast, 'We have new talent and new faces this year. Maureen Hughes (casting agent) has an incredible way of finding fresh talent for us. It was a real feat to bring Brian F O'Byrne to the show and he truly is a fantastic actor, and a great team member.'
Along with Love Hate, Heffernan has just wrapped up filming Love Rosie, the movie based on the book Where Rainbows End, by Cecelia Ahern and also starred in the new Alan Partridge film Alpha Papa. Love Hate will return to our screens later this year.
