It's no secret that they've been engaged in a long-running media spat since the days of ITV's CU:UK, but Mel C and Louis Walsh's feud is back in the spotlight today, after the Spice Girl slammed the X Factor judge on BBC Radio 5Live.
As per Digital Spy, Mel was chatting to host Richard Bacon when he decided to ask her if she thought Louis' departure would be a big loss for the show. "I think it would be a gain if he went, wouldn't it?" she replied. "Louis Walsh and myself have had a bit of a spat running over the years. He has been very rude about me. We had an argument on CD:UK. He's a very lucky man to be where he is in my opinion. What does he actually do?"
Well, for one, he spends plenty of time discovering the next big thing.
And then there was that time way back in 2005 when he actually won the show with Shayne Ward,
Or that fateful year when he really championed the Irish cause.
Which famously resulted in this...
And then there was this trash TV gem (Captured beautifully by WordPress blogger Feed Limmy)
So in conclusion Mel, while at first we half agreed with you, all we have to say is...
We'll admit, we haven't quite forgiven Louis for Jedward just yet, but he must be doing SOMETHING right if he's managed to last the whole 10 series. Bacon reminded the Spice Girl of Louis' work with Boyzone and Westlife, and she did have something to say to that one anyway: "Sorry, he has done a hell of a lot for the industry. I take it all back", she quipped.
As for our Louis, he doesn't seem bothered by any criticism coming his way. "I'm happy this is going to be my last year. I've been judging X Factor for ten years so I've done it all. It was never in my plan to be on TV but Simon Cowell put me there. I'm very grateful to him but I need my life back!", he said.
And rumour has it that while getting his life back, Louis will be hot to trot across the ballroom on Strictly Come Dancing. "I am going to be a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing. But I am saying no more than that" he told The Daily Star. Someone call IKEA, we have a feeling the BBC will be needing a lot more stools for those big key changes.
X Factor returns to ITV at the end of the month.
