Erm, this is the first time we’re hearing that Davos Seaworth has sex appeal, but there you go (We suppose GOT has inspired such a following at this point that everyone fancies everyone).
We first meet the knight and reformed smuggler in season 2 when he is in the service of Stannis Baratheon, a claimant to the Iron Throne whom he served as Hand of the King. Since then, a lot has happened and he is now loyal to Jon Snow, King of the North.
After the dramatic finale that marked the end of season 7, Liam Cunningham, who plays the character, was interviewed by Vulture. At one point, he was asked why he thinks his character appeals so much to the interviewer’s ‘female friends,’ and his answer was a little creepy, but also hilarious and sweet:
“I think there is a certain amount of … [pauses.] Because there are so many morally ambiguous characters in this, maybe some of your female friends have daddy issues or something like that, because Davos would certainly make a wonderful father. Listen, I’d love to be like Davos. I aspire to be that man.
"You know where you are with this guy. He has a sense of fun, and he’s not fearful of life. As he said to Stannis, he’s not fearful of his death, either. He’s a guy you’d love in your corner. He’s a quiet hero. He’s kind of what we all aspire to be. But if it’s anything other than that, you need to speak to your friends. [Laughs.]”
We can’t wait for his return!
