Remember when we thought Clontarf Christine was a bit of a handful earlier this season on Room to Improve? Well she seems like a walk in the park compared to the demands of Katie on last night's Room to Improve.
Herself and husband Padraig wanted a revamp of their farmhouse and decided Dermot was the man for the job. We're not quite sure why though as his initial plan got a harsh 0 out of 10 from Katie as she refused an open plan layout (didn't she realise who she was dealing with?) and the pair continued to clash throughout the episode over everything from china cabinets to the colour of the windows.
Dermot was nearly at his wit's end at one point as he told the camera that he was close to walking out on the entire project.
Of course, he didn't, and as we have come to expect from the emotional rollercoaster that is Room to Improve, in the end, they all lived happily ever after, with a kitchen so nice that Padraig may actually cook a meal in it (one day).
As usual, Twitter was the best place to be for the running commentary of the episode. Here are some of the best tweets:
Why in the name of all things architect would you get Dermot in if you hate open plan; Dermot LOVES an open plan. He’d marry an open plan. #RoomToImprove

Well now, if there was ever a man who has his dinner in the middle of the day, it’s Pádraig #roomtoimprove

Well done Katie. Possibly the first client to unite the entire Room To Improve audience in Dermot's favour. #roomtoimprove

I can imagine Dermot Bannon, rocking back and forth and weeping off camera, with a producer whispering in his ear "Just think of what good TV it will make. Just stay another couple of days" #roomtoimprove

Plane spotting Dermo.
The best part of that cringey episode was Dermot revealing his true passion is watching planes take off at Dublin airport 😂😂😂#roomtoimprove
