Fox News might need to brush up on their 'Monty Python' sayings
Fox News have unknowingly reported that a direct quote from the famed 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail' as a supposedly direct quote from protestors who have occupied a space in Seattle, Washington. Established by George Floyd protestors, the six city blocks and park of Capitol Hill have been known for promoting inclusivity and acceptance, such as the LGBTQ community.
Fox News' 'The Story' host Martha MacCallum was covering Seattle's Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) when the mistake happened. Allegedly headed by Raz Simone, a hip-hop artist, the news segment claimed that there was infighting among protesters who have occupied the area for the past number of weeks. Reporting information from a since-deleted Reddit post (immediate red flag) which stated that the social media user hadn't voted for Simone, John Cleese noticed the Fox News mistake immediately.
The 'Monty Python' co-founder John Cleese noticed the quote which included the line "I thought we had an anonymous collective. An anarcho-syndicalist commune at the least" as a direct quote from the 1975 satire.
Here's how he reacted to the Fox News mishap.
BREAKING: No one @FoxNews has ever seen @montypython & The Holy Grail. ? #runit #goodjournalism #factchecking pic.twitter.com/46sKRh4qQi

Cleese then followed his tweet up with this zinger, after CHAZ elected "a strong and capable new leader". He gets our vote.
BREAKING: After much in-house fighting amongst members of #CHAZ they have unanimously elected a strong and capable new leader. Please report @FoxNews And it should be noted he's quite capable of walking down ramps and drinking water properly. pic.twitter.com/Z8DtJNgKmp

The lines which Fox News mistakingly took for gospel happen in 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail' when King Arthur approaches two mud-farming peasants when one of them gives the classic retort.
