We finally have an official announcement, following weeks of speculation of who would replace Amanda Byram on RTE's hit dancing show.

Confirming it live this morning on RTÉ 2fm’s 'Breakfast Republic', Jennifer Zamparelli will join Nicky Byrne as co-presenter on the series in the new year. This will be RTE's third series of 'Dancing with the Stars'.

No doubt Zamparelli will bring some of her own signature sparkle to the dancing show, which will see 11 brand new celebrities dance their way into the nation’s living rooms each Sunday night in January.

Speaking about the announcement, Zamparelli said "I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the 'Dancing with the Stars' team. I was lucky enough to witness the live production first hand last year when I sat in the audience supporting Bernard O’Shea and I was genuinely so impressed by the overall scale of the show.

"I can’t wait to get my glam on and start entertaining the nation on Sunday nights, and who better to do it with than the fabulous Nicky Byrne."

Zamparelli also took to her Twitter to announce the news, saying "So me and my new telly husband @nickybyrneinsta. Laters @bernardo.oshea #dwtsireland":

Jake Carter won this years iteration of 'Dancing with the Stars', after facing comedian Deirdre O'Kane and camogie player Anna Geary in the final.
