Although it went off the air in 2006 and pretty much all the central cast have gone on to major movie work, Jennifer Garner told THR that a new series of 'Alias' is in the works.

What's more, Garner says she's more than keen to come back as Sydney Bristow - but added that nobody's talked to her about it yet. "I mean it would be totally different. But if they didn't have me on as a guest, I would be very, very angry. But I can't imagine it being that serious yet because I haven't heard anything about it at all."

Garner is currently starring in an upcoming HBO miniseries, 'Camping', alongside David Tennant and Ione Skye, and hasn't really returned to television since 'Alias'. That series, which was a critical success and launched both Garner's career and one Bradley Cooper's, was created by JJ Abrams and featured some pretty well-known names as special guests.

Quentin Tarantino turned up in one episode, as did Ethan Hawke, Sir Roger Moore, Faye Dunaway and Isabella Rosellini, who played Garner's on-screen relative. 'Alias' ran for five seasons before it ended, however the impact of the show has been felt in just about everyone's careers.

JJ Abrams went on to direct 'Mission: Impossible III' shortly after 'Alias' whilst Jennifer Garner starred in the ill-fated 'Daredevil' movie with Ben Affleck and the follow-up, 'Electra'. As it stands, ABC haven't confirmed or denied the story, however rumours have been floating around for years that 'Alias' was going to be restarted.

Given how successful other television reboots have been, it seems only likely that 'Alias' gets a shot in the arm.
