Albert Square is set to reopen next month, but Ian Beale may not be around for it.
Although 'Eastenders' has been on hiatus since June, the show's writers have been working out some of the storylines for the soap and a major storyline involving Ian Beale is in the works.
Details are light, but it's understood Ian Beale - who has been a fixture on the show since 1985, when the show first began - will be leaving the show for an unspecified amount of time.
A show insider told Digital Spy that Adam Woodyatt's character will be written out of the show for a period of time, but didn't go into details as to why that's the case.
Most likely the storyline will have something to do with the death of Dennis Rickman, not to mention the fact that the Queen Vic will likely be in big trouble over the pandemic.
The show is set to resume on September 7th, with episodes expected to run at their regular broadcast times.
