Dieter Brummer played Shane Parrish on the Australian soap
The actor was found dead in a house in Sydney on Saturday.
Dieter Brummer passed away at the weekend at the age of 45. His cause of death is not believed to be suspicious.
The Australian actor's most well-known role was starring as the heartthrob Shane Parrish during the '90s edition of 'Home and Away' from 1991 to 1996. Shane and Angel Brooks, played by Melissa George, were known as one of the most recognisable soap couples of the decade.
Following his departure from 'Home and Away', Dieter later appeared in the country's rival soap, 'Neighbours'. He played the role of Troy Miller for a much shorter run, only appearing in 28 episodes during 2001 and 2012.
Recently, the 45-year-old had left the acting world and was reportedly running his own window cleaning business.
The late actor's family released a statement following his passing. It reads: "We lost our handsome, talented, funny, complicated and beloved Dieter.
"He has left a massive hole in our lives and our world will never be the same.
"Our thoughts go out to all of you who knew him, loved him, or worked with him over the years.
We appreciate you respecting our privacy at this terrible time."
The official 'Home and Away' Instagram page paid tribute to Dieter Brummer. Georgie Parker, Luke Jacobz and Penny MacNamee, who play Roo, Angelo and Tori on the soap commented their respects to the actor.
