Tributes are being paid to former Home and Away star Jessica Falkholt, who passed away this week following a car crash on St Stephen's Day which also took the lives of her parents, 21-year-old sister and the driver of the other vehicle.

29-year-old Jessica had been on life support since the crash but it was switched off last week and she passed away on Wednesday in Australia.

A spokesperson for the hospital said: "Jessica passed away from serious injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on 26 December 2017.

"The family has asked for privacy during this very difficult time."

Jessica Falkholt played Hope Morrison on Home and Away in 2016 and was considered to be a rising star in Australia.

Australian broadcaster Channel 7, which airs Home and Away, led the tributes to the young star.

Fellow Home and Away cast members also paid tribute to Jessica.
