It may be primarily movie awards season but, thanks to the Golden Globes, there's always some room to give the best TV of the last year some awards gold and let the stars of television's finest mingle with the Hollywood elite.
Don Cheadle, Laura Dern and Anna Kendrick, along with the president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, announced the nominees for this year's awards today and Irish actress Caitriona Balfe lead the way of the country in the TV category for her work on 'Outlander'.
Sarah Jessica Parker received a nomination for her work in 'Divorce', so fingers crossed she takes Sharon Horgan as her date for creating the character that brought her back to TV (and because we really want to hear what the Golden Globes are like from an Irish perspective).
'Game of Thrones', 'Stranger Things', Westworld' and 'The Night Manager' were the most lauded in nominations from the HPA so it looks like a HBO showdown come the awards ceremony in January.
The 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Jimmy Fallon, take place in the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday, January 8, 2017.
