It hasn't exactly been the smash hit we expected but it looks as though Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is set for a bit of a boost when it treads into Thor territory in an upcoming crossover episode, due to air in the US of A in just a few weeks.
As per Entertainment Weekly, 'The Well' will see Coulson and co engaging in a bit of a clean up "in the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World", the official blurb reads. "Coulson and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pick up the pieces–one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team" it continues, while the episode will be directed by none other than Jonathan Frakes.
Excuse me while my inner Trekkie has a minor conniption. Whether or not The Next Generation's Number 1 has what it takes to pull Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D out of it's own errr, dark world, remains to be seen, but it sure can't hurt to bring in the big guns, eh?
Expect guest stars in the form of Peter MacNicol as Professor Elliot Randolph, Michael Graziadei as Jakob Nystrom, Erin Way as Petra Larsen, Toby Wilson as Neils, Alex Neustaedter as Maynard and Sylvia Brindis as Elena.
And no. There'll be no sign of Thor or Loki. Sob.
