Damn it!

That's the collective response from fans of great television from all over the globe as HBO announced a return date for their marquee series, Game of Thrones.

The series will again be based in Northern Ireland while, as we previously reported, it will also shoot in Iceland and Spain.

Entertainment Weekly had the below via HBO:

“Now that winter has arrived on Game of Thrones, executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss felt that the storylines of the next season would be better served by starting production a little later than usual, when the weather is changing,” said Casey Bloys, president, HBO programming. “Instead of the show’s traditional spring debut, we’re moving the debut to summer to accommodate the shooting schedule.”

So what does that mean? Well basically you'll get a shorter season than this year (7 episodes as opposed to 10) which you won't get to see until summer of 2017.

Again... DAMN IT!

This season broke records for HBO reaching 23 million viewers and being nominated for 23 Emmys.
