It's less than week until October 31st and if that chill in the air hasn't started to get you in the mood for OĆche Shamhna we think we've got something that will.
Podge and Rodge once proved that we all love a decent scare at bedtime, but if scary movies aren't really your thing then perhaps a bit of spooky telly is just what you need as the clock ticks ever closer to All Hallows Eve?
Sure, it's hard to scare kids these days (when we were growing up the slightest hint of danger on Home and Away had us running behind the sofa) but Netflix have quite the selection of TV shows that'll definitely do their best to give you the 'oul heebie jeebies.
Here are 6 Spooky TV treats that will take you all the way through to Halloween:
1. Hemlock Grove
This Netflix original came courtesy of Eli Roth and was an instant hit when it landed on the streaming site earlier this year. Werewolves, vampires, weird demons: You name 'em it's got 'em, and a never ending series of terrifying twists and turns to boot.
2. The Vampire Diaries
You think you know the story here (girl meets vampire, girl falls in love with vampire, girl realises his older brother is a bit of a bad boy and thus far more attractive) but you actually don't. Set in Mystic Falls, Virgina, the series tells the tale of Elena Gilbert, a young lass with some serious connections to the town, which just so happens to be steeped in supernatural history.
3. Goosebumps
A classic that never gets old, Goosebumps was up there with Are You Afraid of The Dark? when it came to TV shows we were too scared to watch as kids. And sure isn't every single episode based on one of RL Stine's brilliant books?
4. Roswell
It was always a tad more supernatural than spooky, but that doesn't mean Roswell didn't know how to give us a good scare back in the day. Born during the Dawson's Creek era of teen TV series, this show focused primarily on a group of aliens who were simply trying to find their way back home. Keep your eyes peeled for a young Katherine Heigel.
5. I Know What I Saw
A little less TV series, a little more TV documentary, I Know What I Saw sees (pun totally intended) James Fox heading inside the National Press Club in Washington, D.C, where he gathers UFO witnesses to testify about what they've seen. We probably wouldn't sleep without a light on after this one.
6. Buffy The Vampire Slayer
We don't think we need to explain this one now, do we?
