We don't know about you, but we are really looking forward to getting home tonight, putting the kettle on and vegging the hell out in front of the box. Then maybe waking up tomorrow and actually doing something with our day, besides being curled up in a hangover hell hole. Mad, aren't we? So we've brought you the best of the box tonight because it really is a great night for telly. And sure if you are heading out like a mad yoke, this is what you can watch back tomorrow... from your hangover hell holes.
The Graham Norton Show
BBC1: 10:35pm
He's back! The chat show host who can do no wrong returns to our screens tonight, and he has quite the couch lined up for us. The hero that is Denzel Washington will be talking about his movie update of 1980s TV series The Equalizer, the latest Doctor Who Peter Capaldi will reveal how it feels to be holding the key to the Tardis, while Graham also chats to actress Gemma Arterton, who is about to hit the West End in a musical version of the 2010 movie Made in Dagenham. As if that wasn't enough, the sultry voice of George Ezra will be performing his hit Blame It on Me. Amazing stuff. Friday nights have just not been the same without Graham.
Strictly Come Dancing
BBC 1: 9.00pm
The pairs have been practicing their dance moves within an inch of their lives these last few weeks and now it's finally time to see them in action together. We won't lie, we will mainly be routing for Mrs Brown's Boys star Jennifer Gibney who will be dancing with fellow Irish star Tristan McManus. A few other familiar faces (we don't have a breeze who some of them are) are Max from EastEnders (Jake Wood), BBC DJ Scott Mills, Pixie Lott, Caroline Flack and Mark Wright (Michelle Keegan's fella). Hosting duties will be taken over by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman following Bruce Forsyth's retirement last year. Let the dancing begin!
Ryder Cup
Sky Sports 4: From 7.00am
The 40th Ryder Cup gets underway today from the Gleneagles in Scotland, where Europe will defend their title against America for a weekend golf showdown between the most talented men in the sport. Europe are clear favourites to triumph however having won five of the last six Ryder Cups and come on, they have McIlroy for crying out loud. That fella is collecting Majors like they are going out of fashion these days. Paul Azinger, the only winning US captain of this century, has even advised Tom Watson to 'find and break Rory McIlroy' and to go all William Wallace on his ass'. Them's fightin' words! But we all know what happened to William Wallace...
Gogglebox
Channel 4: 9:00pm
All our favourtite TV programmes are returning all at once, really is taking up an awful lot of our time, but who needs friends anyway? We never in a million years would have thought that a TV programme featuring people watching TV programmes would take off, but BAFTA winning Gogglebox has certainly proved otherwise. Tonight we will see show regulars Steph and Dom return along with hairdressers Christopher and Stephen who will all be giving us their take of the week that was in telly land.
Later... with Jools Holland
BBC2: 11.05pm
Our own Hozier will be making his Jools debut tonight! The Wicklow native has catapulted to fame this last year and will be performing his breakthrough song 'Take Me to Church'. Joining him will be R'n'B and soul singer Mary J Blige performing tracks from forthcoming album The London Sessions, veteran singer-songwriter Marianne Faithfull plays songs from her new LP Give My Love to London. Along with those ladies, Southampton rock trio Band of Skulls will be performing, as well as Manchester jazz trio GoGo Penguin and Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit. Finally, last but not least, Luther star Idris Elba chats to Jools about his album paying tribute to Nelson Mandela. Crackin' lineup, definitely worth missing the pub for.
The X Factor
TV3: 9.00pm, UTV: 9.00pm
I know what you're thinking, X Factor, on a Friday? How much more of our lives do they want to take? But yes, for the next few weeks the show will be airing three nights a week pretty much to give Strictly a run for its money. Can't these talent shows all just get along? Boot camp begins tonight and they are bringing back the musical chairs system where each act can earn a place with the judges only to be booted off if another act catches their attention. It's a cruel, cruel world we live in lads.
