Sura says goodbye, Paul Hollywood being Paul Hollywood - it's all there.
As another week of 'GBBO' rolls on by, another baker bites the (flour) dust as fan favourite Sura was sent home after making a not-exactly-brilliant Celebration Cake during Chocolate Week.
Chocolate Week saw the bakers go through three tough rounds, with Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood taking each of them to task for their creations. Sadly, Sura's failures with serving up raw dough meant that she was sent home.
In an open letter penned after her exit, she said that she thinks "we were fortunate to be grouped up together and 12 strangers became friends and then family in a matter of weeks," and that the Class of 2020 "most definitely had the best summer."
Also stunning was the reveal that Noel Fielding freely admitted to the fact that he himself has never baked anything, despite the fact that he's a host on a baking show. May we all be blessed with that kind of self-confidence that allows us to host such a show and never have partaken in the relatively accessible activity.
Not surprisingly, Twitter was on form about this, Sura's exit, as well as Matt Lucas getting in people's faces during a tough week of baking. Here's a few selections from this week's Twitter reaction.
Sura cannot go. Botched brownies and a bad babka can’t defeat the energy of a woman who walks her cat #gbbo pic.twitter.com/bqc5f83ypo
