The drama has been commissioned by ITV
The best-selling novel will be filmed on location in Ireland, and the leading actor has already been announced.
A four-part drama series based on Graham Norton's debut novel 'Holding' will begin filming on location in Ireland very soon.
The series, commissioned by ITV and produced by Happy Prince and Port Pictures, is based on the author and TV presenter's first dive into fictional writing.
Graham's dark and witty debut is based in the sleepy, fictional town of Duneen, Cork, which is shocked by the discovery of what appears to be human bones during building renovations. Sergeant PJ Collins must solve whose bones they belong to - with rumours suggesting two women in town might know more information.
The novel was released in 2016, and earned Graham critical acclaim. Since then, he has gone on to release two more fictional novels, 'A Keeper' and 'Home Stretch'.
Graham Norton's 'Holding' TV series will star Northern Irish actor Conleth Hill as Sergeant PJ Collins. Conleth will be familiar to 'Game of Thrones' fans, as he played the mysterious and untrustworthy Varys in the HBO fantasy series.
The drama will be directed by Kathy Burke ('Walking and Talking'), and is written by Dominic Treadwell-Collins ('A Very English Scandal') and Karen Cogan ('The Young Offenders').
Commenting on his novel being turned into a TV series, Graham said: "I am beyond excited to see the story and characters I created being brought to the screen. I love how the brilliant creative team have transformed my novel into something so rich and dramatic. West Cork is ready for its close-up!!"
'Holding' will be filmed in Ireland this summer. Expect more casting announcements closer to when production begins.
