Let's see if we can predict a few winners, shall we?
As always, the Golden Globes kicked off awards season this year - albeit a bit later, and more controversially than usual.
The 78th Annual Golden Globes will be taking place on opposite sides of America on February 28. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will once again host the event, separately, as we all watch from our homes for the results - just like all of this year's nominees.
We've already made our movie predictions, so now it's the turn of the smaller screen, the one thing we've been glued to for the past year.
Here are our predictions for the Golden Globes TV nominees.
BEST TV SERIES - DRAMA
'The Crown'
'Lovecraft Country'
'The Mandalorian'
'Ozark'
'Ratched'
'Lovecraft Country', while it wasn't perfect, will most likely come out on top here. The series dealt with the hard truth Black Americans faced around the time of the Jim Crow era in the 1950s, with some fantasy and sci-fi elements thrown in for good measure. 'The Crown' could pip the series to the post, however, with a seriously strong fourth season. 'The Mandalorian' is also a firm fan favourite that is worth bearing in mind, and 'Ozark' has gathered more steam as each season progresses. 'Ratched' just feels like an odd inclusion here, and could easily have been replaced with 'Bridgerton' or even Amazon's 'The Boys'.
WILL WIN: 'Lovecraft Country'
COULD WIN: ''The Mandalorian'
SHOULD WIN: 'The Crown'
BEST TV SERIES - MUSICAL OR COMEDY
'Emily in Paris'
'The Great'
'Schitt's Creek'
'The Flight Attendant'
'Ted Lasso'
The Golden Globes were called out rotten for its inclusion of 'Emily in Paris' in this category. The internet quite rightly went wild when Michaela Coel's provocative 'I May Destroy You' was snubbed from the awards entirely. While the Netflix series is an easy-breezy watch, its inclusion here is questionable. 'Schitt's Creek' should be the overall winner, easily, considering its Emmy sweep last year, and purely because it's the best of the bunch.
WILL WIN: 'Schitt's Creek'
COULD WIN: 'The Great'
SHOULD WIN: 'Schitt's Creek'
BEST TV LIMITED SERIES
'Normal People'
'The Queen's Gambit'
'Small Axe'
'The Undoing'
'Unorthodox'
For those with access to BBC One, anthology series 'Small Axe' has been garnering heavy praise. Created by 'Shame' and '12 Years A Slave' director Steve McQueen, it's almost certain to take the top prize. Having said that, Netflix's 'Unorthodox' was a spellbinding series about an ultra-Orthodox community in New York which left a lasting impression. 'Normal People' or 'The Queen's Gambit' could be looked on favourably too.
WILL WIN: 'Small Axe'
COULD WIN: 'The Queen's Gambit'
SHOULD WIN: 'Unorthodox'
TV SERIES DRAMA - BEST ACTOR
Jason Bateman in 'Ozark'
Bob Odenkirk in 'Better Call Saul'
Al Pacino in 'Hunters'
Matthew Rhys in 'Perry Mason'
Josh O'Connor in 'The Crown'
We reckon Matthew Rhys will walk away with the Golden Globes TV win. The awards show failed to recognise him for his work on 'The Americans', and the show has been a popular HBO series. Failing that, it could be another win for 'The Crown' and Josh O'Connor as the insufferable Prince Charles. We loved Al Pacino appearing in Amazon Prime's 'Hunters', but it wasn't his best performance. Bateman is also a possibility for his Netflix series.
WILL WIN: Matthew Rhys
COULD WIN: Josh O'Connor
SHOULD WIN: Jason Bateman
TV SERIES DRAMA - BEST ACTRESS
Olivia Colman in 'The Crown'
Emma Corrin in 'The Crown'
Sarah Paulson in 'Ratched'
Jodie Comer in 'Killing Eve'
Laura Linney in 'Ozark'
While we love Sarah Paulson, Olivia Colman, and Jodie Comer, we think it's one of the other two contenders who will come out on top. Colman already has three Globes, and won one for 'The Crown' last year. It's time for first-time nominee and break-out star Emma Corrin and her Lady Diana to claim the prize. Her role was a near-perfect representation of how one would imagine the troubled Royal family member acted and deserves all of the recognition she's been getting. Laura Linney, meanwhile, already has two Golden Globe wins under her belt - but none for 'Ozark'.
WILL WIN: Emma Corrin
COULD WIN: Laura Linney
SHOULD WIN: Emma Corrin
TV SERIES COMEDY OR MUSICAL - ACTOR
Eugene Levy in 'Schitt's Creek'
Nicholas Hoult in 'The Great'
Don Cheadle in 'Black Monday'
Jason Sudeikis in 'Ted Lasso'
Ramy Youssef in 'Ramy'
Given the amount of buzz and praise that the series 'Ramy', based on the first-generation Egyptian-American, it should be one that we'll have to look out to snatch the title. So, we'll leave that in the "could win" category. Jason Sudeikis in Apple TV+'s 'Ted Lasso' garnered high praise, and considering this is his first nomination, after years of being on television and movies, he's probably a sure-fire bet. This is also Eugene Levy's first nomination, and with it being for the final season of 'Schitt's Creek', it would be well-deserved.
WILL WIN: Jason Sudeikis
COULD WIN: Ramy Youssef
SHOULD WIN: Eugene Levy
TV SERIES COMEDY OR MUSICAL - ACTRESS
Catherine O'Hara in 'Schitt's Creek'
Elle Fanning in 'The Great'
Kaley Cuoco in The Flight Attendant'
Lily Collins in 'Emily in Paris'
Jane Levy in 'Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist'
As great as all of those other actresses on this nominations list are, there really is only one bébé in our eyes. Catherine O'Hara's Moira Rose has become a pop culture phenomenon and her outstandingly outlandish performance was the (literal) crown of season six. We really can't see any of the others managing to outdo the actress, but Elle Fanning's Catherine the Great deserves a consideration.
WILL WIN: Catherine O'Hara
COULD WIN: Elle Fanning
SHOULD WIN: Catherine O'Hara
TV LIMITED SERIES - BEST ACTRESS
Cate Blanchett in 'Mrs. America'
Daisy Edgar-Jones in 'Normal People'
Shira Haas in 'Unorthodox'
Nicole Kidman in 'The Undoing'
Anya Taylor-Joy in 'The Queen's Gambit'
While we would love Daisy Edgar-Jones to fly the flag for 'Normal People', she is in a very difficult category here. With three Globes apiece for both Cate Blanchett and Nicole Kidman, it would be quite the mean feat for the break-out actress to conquer over them. Then, when you add in Anya Taylor-Joy's performance from 'The Queen's Gambit', she is probably the sure-fire winner here. Shira Haas in 'Unorthodox' was just so pure and delicate, yet powerful, we're still holding out that the young actress will claim her first win.
WILL WIN: Anya Taylor-Joy
COULD WIN: Cate Blanchett
SHOULD WIN: Shira Haas
TV LIMITED SERIES - BEST ACTOR
Bryan Cranston in 'Your Honor'
Jeff Daniels in 'The Comey Rule'
Hugh Grant in 'The Undoing'
Ethan Hawke in 'The Good Lord Bird'
Mark Ruffalo in 'I Know This Much is True'
A very tough category to call. Some of Hollywood's biggest stars are lined up here in the limited TV series category, all giving quite the performances. So, you can understand why Paul Mescal lost out on a spot. However, given that Ruffalo already snagged the Emmy for 'I Know This Much Is True', we're hedging our bets that he'll do it again. Hugh Grant in 'The Undoing' was fantastic, but again, it didn't feel like his best performance (that is exclusively reserved for 'Paddington 2').
WILL WIN: Mark Ruffalo
COULD WIN: Hugh Grant
SHOULD WIN: Mark Ruffalo
TV SERIES SUPPORTING ROLE - ACTOR
Brendan Gleeson in 'The Comey Rule'
Daniel Levy in 'Schitt's Creek'
Jim Parsons in 'Hollywood'
John Boyega in 'Small Axe'
Donald Sutherland in 'The Undoing'
Daniel Levy deserves to go out with a bang, but he has a strong contender in John Boyega. Boyega's morally-troubled police officer is just the type of character which the Golden Globes might place on top. While Gleeson gave an impressive performance as former US President Donald Trump in 'The Comedy Rule', we're unsure if it's enough for the Irish actor to secure a win. This is his fourth nomination, however, so you never know.
WILL WIN: John Boyega
COULD WIN: Brendan Gleeson
SHOULD WIN: Daniel Levy
TV SERIES SUPPORTING ROLE - ACTRESS
Gillian Anderson in 'The Crown'
Helena Bonham Carter in 'The Crown'
Julia Garner in 'Ozark'
Annie Murphy in 'Schitt's Creek'
Cynthia Nixon in 'Ratched'
Again, this is another very difficult category to call. We have two acting heavy-weights in the form of Gillian Anderson and Helena Bonham Carter from 'The Crown'. While Anderson is a fantastic actress, and her only other Golden Globes TV win was in 1997 for 'The X-Files', we think it'll go to her. However, her performance as Margaret Thatcher wasn't to everyone's liking. But, again, this is the Globes where anything can happen. In an ideal world, Annie Murphy will pick up the award, as Alexis in 'Schitt's Creek' went through the most dramatic change out of all of the characters with Murphy delivering a stunning performance.
WILL WIN: Gillian Anderson
COULD WIN: Helena Bonham Carter
SHOULD WIN: Annie Murphy
