'Another Year in the Life' anyone?
The Netflix revival of 'Gilmore Girls' for a one-off four-episode special was one of the biggest TV events of last year and it appears that Netflix are very aware of that fact and are hoping to strike gold again.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos told UK press that they are in "very preliminary" talks with 'Gilmore Girls' creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino for another go round of the revival.
"We hope [there are more installments]. We obviously loved the success of the show, fans loved how well it was done, it delivered what they hoped," he said. "The worst thing is to wait a couple of years for your favorite show to come back and for it to disappoint you, but they sure delivered and people were really excited about more, and we have been talking to them about the possibility of that."
Reaction to the revival was split, with some fans loving all the twists and turns and (SPOILER) pregnancies that came with 'A Year in the Life' and others wondering what the hell Sherman-Palladino was doing *cough* Stars Hollow the Musical *cough*.
The creators clearly think there could be more story to tell, but whether they and Netflix can find the time (and money) to get all the cast back together again could kick this can a long way down the road.
