Good news for GGA fans: TG4's commissioned a brand new series about the history of the sport in the good old US of A, and it's set to hit our TV screens later this year.

GAA USA will be delving into Irish American history, and telling the as yet untold tale of GAA in the United States. The production, which comes courtesy of Sónta Films with funding from the BAI, will start filming in June, and is expected to land on our tellyboxes in the autumn.

Former Kerry All-Ireland winning captain and TG4 Seó Spóirt presenter Dara Ó Cinnéide will be on hand to guide us through the three part series, which will take us right the way back to the 1780's. Believe it or not, the team have gotten their hands on documents that suggest they were hurling on the streets of New York way back when.

As per IFTN, Chicago, Boston, San Francsico, Cleveland and New York are among the locations featured in the series, which will aim to paint a portrait of the organisation from its beginnings, right the way up to the modern day.
