We're getting 'GOT' from all angles
Whether we like it or not, we're getting a FEAST of 'Game of Thrones' spin-offs, prequels, and animations from HBO in the future (but still no sign of a book from George R. R. Martin).
'10,000 Ships' is the official title of the next 'Game of Thrones' spin-off from HBO.
The series will focus on Princess Nymeria. Not to be confused with Nymeria Sand, or Arya's direwolf Nymeria, in Martin's fictional universe Princess Nymeria is a valiant and skilled warrior and tactician. Hailing from the House of Rhoyne, she is a warrior Queen from House Martell.
'10,000 Ships' will be another planned prequel to HBO’s hit series. According to lore, around one thousand years before the events of 'Game of Thrones', Princess Nymeria led the Rhoynar people to the region of Dorne after a defeat from the Valyrians.
George R. R. Martin's world hints that Princess Nymeria commanded a fleet of 10,000 ships for around three years - although some claim that this number was greatly inflated. Either way, we're getting a swashbuckling adventure series here it seems.
No casting has been announced for the prequel, but Amanda Segel of 'Person of Interest' and 'Helstrom' acclaim will be executive producing the series.
'10,000 Ships' is the latest in a wave of new HBO 'Game of Thrones' spin-off series. '9 Voyages' and 'Flea Bottom' are two more productions in the works, as well as 'House of the Dragon' which has nearly finished production on season one. There has also been word of a 'Dunk & Egg' series and an animated production coming our way too.
Will fans be excited for any of these productions after the mess that was season eight of 'Game of Thrones'? Who knows.
